The mainstream media absolutely lost their minds over the weekend after a speech 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump made during a campaign stop in Ohio Saturday.
Specifically, they zeroed in on the word “bloodbath,” which he used to describe what would happen to the auto industry if he wasn’t elected.
Before we get to their fake news reporting, here’s what Trump said in context (transcribed from video):
“Mexico has taken, over a period of 30 years, 34 percent of the automobile manufacturing business in our country. China now is building a couple of massive plants, where they’re going to build the cars in Mexico and they think that they’re going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border.
Let me tell you something to China. If you’re listening, President Xi, and you and I are friends, but he understands the way I deal, those big, monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans, and you’re going to sell the cars to us, no.
We’re going to put a 100 percent tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars – if I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s gonna be a bloodbath for the whole, that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it. But they’re not gonna sell those cars.”
Watch:
Since the mainstream media falsely claims that Donald Trump warned of a “bloodbath” if he loses the 2024 election, I encourage you to listen to what he actually said and what he was referring to and draw your own conclusion: the automobile industry and the loss of jobs. Clearly, he wasn’t talking about how he believed a civil war would happen in the United States if he wasn’t elected. But, similar to the “very fine people” hoax they perpetuated, the MSM spun his “bloodbath” comments in their reports to suggest that’s exactly what he was saying. Not surprisingly, Democrats, including Joe Biden and his reelection campaign, took the ball and ran with it:
We are witnessing the invention of the “bloodbath” hoax in real-time
Unfortunately for them, we have ????

It’s clear this guy wants another January 6.
But the American people are going to give him another resounding electoral defeat this November. https://t.co/saukB6Wjry

Left out of their hyperventilating write-ups, of course, was not just the context but also the fact that “bloodbath” can mean many things:

This is something the MSM apparently only understands when they are using the term:
You would think CNN had never heard the term “bloodbath” used to describe something economic.
They could’ve looked at their own Twitter. https://t.co/jwOqkxsHSw pic.twitter.com/oKQ9mmEMJN

Look, the journos at @politico like to incite violence in all of these headlines with “bloodbath.”
I’m not going to give you the context though, because that would be actual journalism. pic.twitter.com/xEUombHyIM

It’s a term Democrats have used many times over the years, too:

Lastly, never forget:
The same media who called the looting and burning of Kenosha and Minneapolis “mostly peaceful protests” want you to trust them on their “bloodbath” coverage.
